Tom
Walther has over 25 years of experience in the Energy Conservation
and Facilities Improvement industry. A graduate of The University of
Cincinnati, with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in
Marketing, he started his career with Honeywell’s Building Services
Division in Farmington Hills Michigan, and Tampa Florida. After 12½
years in various sales and management positions with Honeywell, Tom
joined a regional mechanical contractor based in Cincinnati,
managing the firm’s service and installation branch in Louisville,
KY for three years, then serving as the company’s Regional Sales
Manager for another three years. In 2000, Tom joined Johnson
Controls as the Sales Manager for the Industrial Market in the
mid-south, and providing support for the Public Sector market. He
accepted his current role as Regional Market Director for State
Government Solutions in Oct., 2003, when JCI created the dedicated
State Government Solutions vertical market. The State Government
Solutions team is responsible for helping State Governments and
their Agencies deliver programs that reduce energy and operating
costs, while improving comfort, safety and productivity for
employees and constituents, through infrastructure enhancements.
Tom’s team is currently responsible for business development and
client satisfaction in this market for the Eastern US.
Tom serves as Vice Chairman of the Affiliates Committee on the
national board of the National Association of State Energy Officials
(NASEO). He is also Vice President for Private Sector on the
national board of the Energy Services Coalition. Additionally, he
serves on the Education Committee of the National Association of
State Facilities Administrators (NASFA). Tom is also a Professional
Member if the American Correctional Association, and Energy Services
Coalition.
Tom’s has been married to his wife Debbie for 23 years, and they
have two children, Katie and Troy. Katie is a junior at the
University of Florida in the Pre-med program, and Troy is a freshman
at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) majoring in Political
Science. Tom and Debbie have resided in Collierville, TN, a suburb
outside of Memphis for the past 8 years.
